Welcome to Samba Spring Camp 2026 – a glorious long weekend of drumming, dancing, swimming, eating, and chilling with the coolest sambistas from all over the country (and a few brave souls from abroad).
This is your chance to unplug from the everyday, breathe fresh forest air, and reconnect with what really matters: music, community, movement, and FUN.
Whether you’re a pro tamborim-slayer, a sambista-in-the-making, or just curious what all the pandeiro-hype is about – this weekend is for YOU.
What is Samba Spring Camp?

Imagine this:
You arrive at a peaceful campsite by the sea.
You’re greeted with smiles, hugs, and the sound of surdo in the distance.
You share meals with awesome people.
You learn dance moves you didn’t know your hips could do.
You drum under the stars by a bonfire.
You laugh. You play. You sweat. You relax.
You leave Sunday evening with sore muscles, a full heart – and new friends for life.
Yeah. That’s Samba Spring Camp.
The Place: Oven Leirsted
Just one hour from Oslo, this hidden gem is nestled between forest and fjord. We’ve got:

A cozy main house with 85 indoor beds, (tents outside for the vikings)

Plenty of space outdoors to engage in social activities.

A view of the Oslo fjord, and yes – it’s swimmable!

Fire pits, forests, sunsets, and the smell of fresh air
We had so much fun here last year we basically booked it again before we even unpacked.
What’s Happening?

Workshops

12 hours of percussion led by Anders Hansen & guests

12 hours of dance led by Jenny Gjerløw & guests
-
We’ll split into groups so everyone gets the right level – from “what’s a surdo?” to “I brought my own sequins.”
Food & Vibes
-
All meals included: warm, hearty, veggie-friendly goodness -
Coffee, tea & evening snacks – of course

BYOB if you’d like to toast the sunset or bring wine to the pagode 🍷
Friday & Saturday Night: Pagode!

Live music, dancing, bonfire and open pagode

Bring your instrument, your costume, or your secret dance act – no judgment.
Price & Registration
Adults (16+): NOK 1,500
Children (under 16): NOK 800
Everything’s included: workshops, accommodation, meals, hugs.

What to Bring?

Sleeping bag or bed sheets, there will be duvet and pillow on site. -
Towel & swimsuit (yes, we’re going in the fjord 💦)

Your instrument (if you have one – if not, we’ll lend you one)

How to Get There
