Anders HansenHovedinstruktør - MusikkAnders Hansen is an experienced percussionist and one of the founders of Oslo Sambaskole. Inspired by the samba schools of Rio and the energy of carnival, he helped build a community where both beginners and experienced musicians and dancers can share the joy of samba. Anders is also the mestre of bateria for Unidos de Oslo and musician in the group Churrasco na Braza, and behind the project Samba é Nois.

Clarissa AltmannGjesteinstruktør - MusikkClarissa Altmann is a samba percussionist, educator, and performer with over 20 years of musical experience and a deep focus on Rio-style batucada. She has studied with renowned Brazilian musicians including Ivo Meirelles (Mangueira), Átila Gomes (Vila Isabel), and Nilo Sergio (Portela). Clarissa is the founder and director of BATURIM in Austria, tamborim leader in Bloco X, and co-Mestre in Bloco Coraço, an international collaboration across Central Europe. She is known for her clear, energetic, and technically strong teaching at workshops and festivals across Europe.

Sebastian MerinoGjesteinstruktør - MusikkSebastian Merino is a skilled samba musician from Peru, living in Gothenburg. He has played Caixa with Abunda and held a number of workshops over many years. Sebastian has performed with samba groups all over Europe and studied with famous mestres from Rio de Janeiro. In addition, he is a singer and cavaco player, and regularly performs with Bloco X and Grupo Churrasco Na Brasa , where he is the lead vocalist and cavaco player. His teaching is characterized by precision, groove and a real passion for samba.

Jakob KainGjesteinstruktør - MusikkJakob Kain is a dynamic percussionist and drummer with over 15 years of experience teaching and performing samba and percussion. He grew up in the samba school A Bunda in Gothenburg, where he now serves as a mestre and tamborim section leader. Jakob has studied and performed in Rio de Janeiro with leading young Brazilian musicians and brings in-depth experience from Brazilian, Cuban, West African, and Haitian percussion traditions.

Samba Spring Camp er en helgesamling med fokus på samba, perkusjon og dans. Arrangementet passer både for deltakere med erfaring og for nybegynnere. Helgen kombinerer kurs, fellesmåltider og sosiale aktiviteter i rolige omgivelser ved fjorden, omtrent én time fra Oslo.
Campen er lagt opp slik at deltakerne bor sammen fra fredag til søndag, med en balanse mellom organisert program og tid til hvile og egenaktivitet.

- Deg som spiller samba- eller perkusjonsinstrument
- Deg som danser samba eller er nysgjerrig på å lære
- Deg som ønsker en sosial helg med musikk og bevegelse

Ingen forkunnskaper er nødvendig. Undervisningen tilpasses nivå.
Program og innhold
Workshops
- 12 timer perkusjon, ledet av Anders Hansen og Clarissa Altmann, Jakob Kain og Sebastian Merino
- 12 timer dans, ledet av Jomo Masai.
Deltakerne deles inn i grupper etter instrument, slik at både nybegynnere og mer erfarne får et relevant tilbud.
Kveldsaktiviteter
- Pagode fredag og lørdag kveld
- Åpen deltakelse med samspill, dans og uformelle innslag
- Bål og sosiale aktiviteter utendørs
Mat og opphold
- Overnatting på leirstedet fra fredag til søndag
- Alle måltider inkludert
- Varm, mettende og vegetarvennlig mat
- Kaffe, te og enkel kveldssnacks
- Det er mulig å ta med egen drikke
Pris og påmelding
- Voksne (16+): 1300 kr
- Barn (under 16 år): 650 kr
Prisen inkluderer workshops, overnatting og alle måltider.
Påmelding åpner høsten 2025. Delbetaling kan avtales ved behov.

About the event
Samba Spring Camp is a weekend gathering focused on samba, percussion, and dance. It is suitable both for experienced participants and complete beginners. The weekend combines workshops, shared meals, and social activities in a quiet setting by the fjord, about one hour from Oslo.
The camp is structured as a residential weekend from Friday to Sunday, with a balance between organized activities and time for rest and personal downtime.
Who is it for?
- People who play samba or percussion instruments
- People who dance samba or want to learn
- Anyone looking for a social weekend with music and movement
- Both adults and children
No prior experience is required. Teaching is adapted to different levels.
Program
Workshops
- 12 hours of percussion, led by Anders Hansen, Clarissa Altmann, Jakob Kain and Sebastian Merino
- 12 hours of dance, led by Jomo Masai.
Participants are divided into groups by instrument and that both beginners and experienced participants receive appropriate instruction.
Evening activities
- Pagode sessions on Friday and Saturday evenings
- Open participation with group playing, dancing, and informal contributions
- Bonfires and outdoor social activities
Food and accommodation
- Accommodation on site from Friday to Sunday
- All meals included
- Warm, filling, vegetarian-friendly food
- Coffee, tea, and simple evening snacks
- Participants may bring their own drinks
Price and registration
- Adults (16+): NOK 1,300
- Children (under 16): NOK 650
The price includes workshops, accommodation, and all meals.
Registration opens in autumn 2025. Payment in installments can be arranged if needed.

Oven Leirsted, Rygge municipality
About one hour from Oslo, located between forest and fjord.
The site includes:
- Approximately 85 indoor beds
- Space for tents
- Large outdoor areas
- Access to the fjord with swimming opportunities
- Bonfire areas and nearby walking trails

- Train to Rygge Station, with coordinated pickup
- Carpooling can be arranged

The camp is open to all ages.
Children, instruments, and special dietary needs are welcome. Dogs may attend but must stay outdoors.
